Parkway Drive – Deep Blue

Band: Parkway Drive
Album: Deep Blue
Year: 2010
Label: Resist Records/Epitaph
Myspace

Best Song: Set To Destroy
Score:
4,5/10

.

When I first heard Parkway Drive was to release a new album, words could not express how psyched I was. Horizons being one of my favorite albums all-time, I was really expecting Parkway Drive to both live up to their previous material and maybe make something even better – if that could be possible!

Some recent changes to Corezine

As some of you may have noticed, Jimmie have stepped down as owner and decided to put me in charge – this means that everything Jimmie once took care of should now be directed to me.
I’m really glad Jimmie wanted me to take over the post as owner and I will do everything I can to keep up the good work, and maybe evolve Corezine into something more. We’re currently working on improving the site layout as a form of a fresh, new start – and hoping to catch a few new followers along the way!

As part of this we have cleaned up our Staff page and are currently looking for active reviewers from all over the world. Photographers (HTML-experience required) are also very welcome; contact Sofie if you’re interested.

That’s all for now, and stay tuned for some changes throughout the site!

/newly-appointed owner of Corezine, Max Grundström.

Mass Of Oceans – The Dead Idols We Are

Band: Mass Of Oceans
Album: The Dead Idols We Are

Label: Unsigned

Best Song: Stay Gold For Me
Score:
8,5/10

Here I was, minding my own business and idling on Last.fm when suddenly someone wrote something in my shoutbox. Somewhere in the back of my head I recall the name of the man writing. My spider senses were tingling… This band advertisement was something out of the usual. I just knew it. I usually ignore it when people advertise their bands on Last.fm, but the perfect choice of words this person emitted, “enjoy my dude!”, made me laugh inside my head and I decided to take a second and listen to what this band was about.

Emarosa – Emarosa

Band: Emarosa
Album: Emarosa
Year: 2010
Label: Rise Records
Myspace

Best Song: The Game Played Right
Score:
8/10

.

After have gone through a rather radical line-up change back in 2008, Emarosa have changed their sound and style with the introduction of former Dance Gavin Dance-singer Jonny Craig. This being Jonny Craig’s sophomore release through Emarosa, I can neither say that they have improved much since Relativity, nor can I say they’ve gone worse.
Since I pre-ordered the album, I got an email from the ones responsible telling me that there were slight problems with the printing of the t-shirt that’s supposed to come with, and that my order would arrive a little late. And indeed it did, but I wasn’t less enthused about it – quite the contrary. However, I was a little shocked there was no pamphlet featured. Absolutely nothing, except some thank you’s behind the CD. It made me a little disappointed since I wanted to go through the lyrics as I listened to it. Oh well, you can’t have everything.

Eyes Set To Kill – Broken Frames

Band: Eyes Set To Kill
Album: Broken Frames
Year: 2010
Label: Break Silence, Koch

Best Song: Play The Part
Score:
9/10

.

This five piece metal band from Phoenix, Arizona, is a band that you should know of if you’re into all kinds of metal. The name is derived from a poem that lead vocalist Alexia Rodriguez wrote in high school, and it steams with temperament.
Their third studio album called Broken Frames sure live up to its name and was released in June 8, 2010.
