    Parkway Drive – Deep Blue

    16.07.10 | by Max Grundström | 4 Comments

    Band: Parkway Drive
    Album: Deep Blue
    Year: 2010
    Label: Resist Records/Epitaph
    Myspace

    Best Song: Set To Destroy
    Score:
    4,5/10

    .

When I first heard Parkway Drive was to release a new album, words could not express how psyched I was. Horizons being one of my favorite albums all-time, I was really expecting Parkway Drive to both live up to their previous material and maybe make something even better – if that could be possible!

Mass Of Oceans – The Dead Idols We Are

    06.07.10 | by Max Grundström | 2 Comments

    Band: Mass Of Oceans
Album: The Dead Idols We Are
    Year: 2010
    Label: Unsigned
    Myspace

Best Song: Stay Gold For Me
    Score:
    8,5/10

    .

Here I was, minding my own business and idling on Last.fm when suddenly someone wrote something in my shoutbox. Somewhere in the back of my head I recall the name of the man writing. My spider senses were tingling… This band advertisement was something out of the usual. I just knew it. I usually ignore it when people advertise their bands on Last.fm, but the perfect choice of words this person emitted, “enjoy my dude!”, made me laugh inside my head and I decided to take a second and listen to what this band was about.

    Emarosa – Emarosa

    06.07.10 | by Max Grundström | 1 Comment

    Band: Emarosa
    Album: Emarosa
    Year: 2010
    Label: Rise Records
    Myspace

Best Song: The Game Played Right
    Score:
    8/10

    .

After have gone through a rather radical line-up change back in 2008, Emarosa have changed their sound and style with the introduction of former Dance Gavin Dance-singer Jonny Craig. This being Jonny Craig’s sophomore release through Emarosa, I can neither say that they have improved much since Relativity, nor can I say they’ve gone worse.
Since I pre-ordered the album, I got an email from the ones responsible telling me that there were slight problems with the printing of the t-shirt that’s supposed to come with, and that my order would arrive a little late. And indeed it did, but I wasn’t less enthused about it – quite the contrary. However, I was a little shocked there was no pamphlet featured. Absolutely nothing, except some thank you’s behind the CD. It made me a little disappointed since I wanted to go through the lyrics as I listened to it. Oh well, you can’t have everything.

    Best Song: Play The Part
    Score:
    9/10

    .

This five piece metal band from Phoenix, Arizona, is a band that you should know of if you’re into all kinds of metal. The name is derived from a poem that lead vocalist Alexia Rodriguez wrote in high school, and it steams with temperament.
Their third studio album called Broken Frames sure live up to its name and was released in June 8, 2010.

It has been two years since the band We Are The Ocean released their debut EP entitled We Are The Ocean which sold all of the 1000 copies in one day. Attack Attack! – Attack Attack!

    Year: 2010
    Label: Rise Records

    Best Song: Renob, Nevada
    Score:
    9/10

    .

The ones who haven’t heard of Attack Attack!, raise you hand. No one? Not very surprising. Attack Attack!, pioneers of the oh-so-famous crabcore, have gone from practially nobodies to Topic of the Month in a matter of years. Their breakthrough release, Someday Came Suddenly – which sold over 75,000 copies in the US – has been both acclaimed and loathed. Will Attack Attack! be able to turn the tables?

    Label: Sumerian Records

    Best Song: Amber
    Score:
    9/10

    .

“This album is dedicated to the hope-bringers, care givers, peace-spreaders, and the fire-hearted, to those who keep warm in a cold world by inhaling hate and exhaling love. Always and forever.” Those words are printed on the back cover of The Hope Division, the third full-length by posi-hardcore band Stick To Your Guns. An extremely admirable positive attitude that have stuck with Stick To Your Guns throughout their years.
