Gosia got to hang out with Ian D’Sa from Billy Talent and ask him some questions. She even got to meet the whole band before they hit the stage.

- Let’s start off with a little background information. How did Billy Talent start?
The band started a very long time ago, like a 17 years ago. We started in high school in 1993. I guess the first 10 years we’ve been an independent band, playing around the city. We didn’t get our first record deal until 2002.

D-Railed Interview

MYSPACE

Interview with Guitarist Justin Ruesch of D-Railed on 12/1/09

How did you come up with the name D-Railed?
Well our personal lives are always off track so the name just kind of fit. One of us said it one time and everybody went hey, that’s a great band name, lol.

How did you guys meet and how long have you guys been playing together?
Me and Tim met about ten years ago because we married sisters and I joined this band in may of 2005 and Brian and Paul came in from another band in the stl area about four months into this thing when we lost a couple members. Dan is the new guy, he just replaced our second bass player a few months ago but we played with him a little last year so he’s been around for a while.

Hundredth Interview

MYSPACE

Interview with Vocalist Chadwick Johnson of Hundredth on 12/16/09

What is the meaning behind the band name?
The name Hundredth is based on The Hundredth Monkey Effect. It’s about critical mass and social change.

How did you guys meet and how long have you been playing together?
We’ve all been in bands that have played locally and toured together, so we’ve known each other for years. As Hundredth, we have been playing together just over a year and a half.

Becoming the Archetype Interview

MYSPACE

Interview with Drummer “Duck” from Becoming the Archetype on 12/3/09

How did you come up with the name Becoming the Archetype?
We had to come up with a name because the label  thought that our first name the Remnant might cause a conflict with a band called The Remnants. The name comes from the Biblical principle that we were created in God’s image. And, we were called to be conformed to His image.  Archetype means the intended form. The Christ is the best of the best. He is the intended form. So we are to become like the Archetype. If we are buried with Him in baptism, and raised to walk in newness, as he is. Then, we are Becoming the Archetype.

Living Sacrifice Interview

MYSPACE

Interview with vocalist Bruce Fitzhugh of Living Sacrifice on 12/16/09

I would say that “The Infinite Order” is probably the most anticipated release in Christian Metal history, so what kind of feelings, emotions, pressure, etc… are you guys feeling? I would say from what I have heard from Overkill Exposure and Rules of Engagement you guys have more than stepped up to the plate.

Hey Steve, thanks so much man. I think that we are just really excited about the new material. There has probably never been a record that we have done where I wanted to play every song live. But that would be hard since our catalog is 7 records deep now.

Creations Interview

12.19.09 Interviews | by: Steve

MYSPACE

Interview with Creations on 12/13/2009

So how did you come up with the band name Creations?
JT: The name really represents how depraved and in need of Grace we are. God created us in His image, but because of our own sin humanity turned away from Him. We have rebelled against Him and gone our own way. God sent His Son to earth, and we murdered Him. This is why the cross is such good news; we are totally sinful, wicked and depraved, and while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Creator laid His life down for Creation.

August Burns Red Interview

12.18.09 Interviews | by: Steve

MYSPACE

Interview with Guitarist Brent Rambler on 11/28/09

What is the meaning behind August Burns Red?
I’m guessing that you mean the band name??  Our original singer had a crazy ex-girlfriend who got super angry when they broke up.  She then lit his doghouse on fire and his dog Redd happened to be inside.  Her name was august.  Thus the band name was born.

What bands have influenced your music?
We all really like Between the Buried and Me, As I lay Dying and Darkest Hour, but for the most part we don’t listen to much metal music.  We just play what we want to hear.
