Avosetta need very little in the way of an introduction. Having delighted me previously with their demo, I felt a fair amount of apprehension when asked to review their for coming EP. The demo was a well made bundle of delight, and this latest release continues to impress us with the bands originality. A previous score of 9/10 is something that is hard to beat, thankfully this EP does not disappoint, not one little bit.

Have you ever wondered what would have happened if Ian Gillan was born in Israel? No? Well regardless, Behind The Sun are the answer. They are a 5-piece Rock band from Israel, and have influences from Pearl Jam, Blue Oyster Cult, and Judas Priest to name a few. A band from Israel is not a common thing, and neither is pathetic fallacy in such a medium as music. However, this album contains both, and the latter is rife!

Generally not known for its post-hardcore scene, Norwich is the birth place of Avosetta. So, when you bring 5 guys together who love what they do and are exceptionally talented at it, you have to expect the results to be superb; and they most certainly are! Acclaimed to have live shows that rival those at the top, and with a fan base that’s ever growing, there’s nothing to stop these guys.

Most bands have their first demos and EPs forgotten about, once they make it big. This demo, however, should not be one of those. Whilst the band, I, the Skyline… have yet to make its impression on the world, this is by far one of the best first releases that I have heard, and I have heard a lot!
