Have you ever listened to an album and you hear several different types of genres or styles of music in one album? Well this is how I felt with Bloodlines. I like that this is not a cookie cutter post-hardcore album. An Early Ending is a five-piece post-hardcore band out of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

A Hero Named Hope is a hardworking 6-piece melodic indie rock/post-hardcore band out of Chicago. I am not a huge post-hardcore/screamo fan but I can appreciate the genre and know good music when I hear it. These guys have a lot of potential and have already torn up the Chicago scene. I did not really know what to think when I first listened to the album. I usually like to listen to music that makes me want to jump in a pit and hurt people, but after a few spins I really started to dig this album. It is not flawless but it is solid.

WOW is all I have to say about the debut EP from Walking With Strangers. Can you say, “Headed for the Big Time”? This is an amazing EP from a five-piece metal band out of Sweden. Again, I have to say WOW!!! Musically, I do not know if it gets any better than this. This five-track EP is incredible! Who knew that an unknown bunch of young men out of Sweden could come up with something this hard that would kick the dust off of my speakers! Something this good rarely comes from dudes that look so young. I wish I had a pit to jump into and crack some skulls!

As Bold As Lions is a five-piece metalcore band out of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. These guys also roar like lions as well. If you are thinking of skipping church this Sunday, which I don’t advise you could make up for it by listening to the As Bold As Lions EP and you will get fed spiritually. These guys have no problems telling you how it is.

All I got to say about this album is WOW!!! Never in a million years would I ever think a bunch of high school boys could bring it this hard! Actually I should call them men because boys couldn’t make music like this.
Texas In July is a five-piece hardcore/metal band out of Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It is funny seeing a group of clean-cut young men that could have such a brutal sound emanating from their bodies! I am used to harder looking men with full sleeve tattoos making this type of music. Who knows maybe that is what they will get when they graduate high school.
