Before There Was Rosalyn is a five-piece metalcore band out of Houston, Texas, and The Führer: An Allegory of a History of Deception is their Victory Records debut.  They released a six track EP called As Far As The Moon From The Sun on Holdfast Records in 2008.  The meaning of the name Before There Was Rosalyn is best put by vocalist Carlos Salazar, “Rosalyn is a name that comes from Shakespeare. Romeo was completely captivated by her at the beginning of that famous play, but quickly forsakes and forgets her the moment he sees Juliet. The sentence would read, before there was Juliet, there was Rosalyn, so we use the latter half and thus: Before There Was Rosalyn.  The name is about not forgetting where you come from in the sense that our pasts have made us who we are, and whatever comes, we must never forget, because who knows how the story of Juliet and her Romeo might have turned out, if his fickle feelings for Rosalyn had withstood the test of time.”

We Came As Romans – To Plant A Seed

If you have not lived under a rock the entire year of 2009, I’m pretty sure you’ve heard of the band called We Came As Romans. Since their EP release in early 2009, entitled ”Dreams”, a lot of things have happened for the six piece hardcore band from Michigan. They signed to Equal Vision Records and immediately hit the studio with the producer Joey Sturgis (The Devil Wears Prada, Attack Attack) to make a 10-track follow-up with the titled “To Plant A Seed”. If you enjoyed the EP you will most definitely enjoy “To Plant A Seed”. And it seems like people are responding positive to the new album as “To Plant A Seed” hits the Billboard Top Chart 200 at place 175 and claimed the #2 spot on the New Alternative Artist chart.

I have to say that I didn’t really care for this EP when I first listened to it; however, like most albums the more I listened to it the more and more I liked it.  Last View is a 6-piece metalcore band hailing from Stockholm, Sweden. Though unsigned, Last View has a great pedigree for a young band.  They have received recognition for “Demo of the Month” and have been called “Almost Famous” and “Best in Sweden” by a few Swedish magazines.
