It all started in late 2006, the 5 piece band from Botkyrka, Sweden, recorded a 5 track demo cd with Marcus Dahlström from Blindside. Just a couple of months later they hit the studio to fulfill their dream – to record their first album, that they later named as self-titled. The self-titled album contains 12 songs, which 3 of them are instrumental songs all wraped up in some of the most amazing artwork i have ever seen, and mixed by Pelle Hencrisson (Refused and Posion The Well). Only 200 handmade copies were made and released without any help from a label.
The self-titled album is dark and heavy, Daniel Sjöström’s vocals are amazingly good and you get lost in time and space while listening to this album. Blending hardcore/metal with post-metal is something new and exciting in the swedish rock scene, not many bands can pull it off like The Spring This Autumn does. This makes The Spring This Autumn unique and rare. Their self-titled debut album will definitely go down in history as 2007/2008 ’s best swedish rock album.
Check it out if you haven’t already, buy a copy (not many left) and spread the word about The Spring This Autumn.
